This log is in ASCII text for ease. It was originally saved as an html file for the purpose of browser viewing, since in 1997, Netscape 4.0 wouldn't allow viewing of text files. And html provides linking for easy error checking, almost acting the role of a site-map. The format and color scheme have been retained for this new site, at least temporarily on the colors.

The list of updates should be archived every so often as to keep the size of this file down to a managable level. (In the past, the archive was broken down by semester. One such archive is noted below. Check this file first before you work on any archived files, so you can be sure you have the latest version. You need not include this file to the list at top if you are merely adding other files-- just change the last updated line at the top of the file. Any changes to the text portions of this file would warrant such a listing. This used to be done, witness the Spring 1995 archive, as has a quasi site-map, in schemes.htm, which kept track of which files had which body tags. It is not formatted in html even though it carries the tag. It does have the html body commands found in most of the pages on the PSMRC site. Some PSMRRC Web history: JHA105 refers to the old site on Joe Alexander's account. The move from that site to www.clubs.psu.edu was begun in September of 1996, and was largely completed by May of 1997, just prior to our layout move. A few straggling items were found still on the old site. In case you didn't know, the PSMRRC site was founded in early September 1994. It continually has had more than 3000 unique hits per year. (This does not include multiple hits from the same site/same session). Joe Alexander's reasoning for getting it started was to beat John Balogh to the punch. Joe did that, and with Rob McKeever's help, the site soon burgeoned into a useful resource and club archive. We were the first Penn State club to venture into the world wide web, and one of the first model railroad clubs online. We remember when Dan Dawdy's Cyberspace World Railroad was less than a year old. Those were the days, with NCSA Telnet 2.5 and Mosaic 1.0... =======================================================================================
