Pennrail turns 20

Welcome to the web home of the Pennrail Transportation System. The prior main index page was inspired by a 1998 vintage Penn State Model Railroad Club main webpage. The current main entry page is a variant of it, retaining the logo and menubar image to the left, and working to revise the content on the right as well.

Pennrail itself was created on September 28, 1987, and lasted as the primary operating unit on the PSMRRC's 4th layout until its dismantling in October, 1997 due to the HUB expansion project. By the time the Club obtained new space in East Halls in 2001, Pennrail was a distant memory to almost all of the members. This site, created on April 30, 2005, is an attempt to tell the story of Pennrail, as well as document its revival in Virginia in the form of Rob McKeever's rendition of its Bedford Division.

The history link at the upper right is to a set of PSMRRC pages as they existed in 1998, and may contain dead links.
